Moline model d manual

I know that some of the early IHC "Bullnose" trucks and I think that even the tractors used this carb for a while. As others have indicated the "Export" features may lead one to different faetures than what was normally used around here in the states. Here's some more stuff that you guys may find informative from the final times of the Moline Plow Company. It's interesting that Offer 4 and 5 are for people wanting to convert from electric to mag and Offer 6 is to convert mag to electric.

I have a Moline Model D. It has the Holly Model K carburetor and the electric governor. The Governor does work on my tractor but it is a little bit of a pain to work on. I have seen other tractors that have the mechanical governor and the mag on them. There is one that I have driven in Ohio and one that I have been helping to get going about an hour from where I live.

Yes they are not too common here but they are here in the USA. The Mechanical governor seems to work better but the electric ones do work as long as they are in good condition. My tractor has the Holly K on it but the other local tractor has a Holly, but it is another Model.

My tractor is the or model. You can see it from the way the fan is driven from the counter shaft and not directly from the crank shaft. I believe there are pictures of it here on this site. As for the other tractor it is a or Melvin will have to let you know about that. I hope he will post here. His tractor is now running. He put a Bosh mag on it and it works good but I don't know that it is the one that came on it.

We looked at the manual and just don't know for sure what was on it from the factory. But I don't know that anyone can tell me for sure what it had then. If you can just let us know. I think at some point Melvin will get on here and tell the story of his tractor and how he got it back to the living again. Thanks, Fred. I'm pretty sure that it was from Melvin's tractor.

Thanks Fred! Isn't SmokStak great??? At the shows, many of the civilians city kids think that it's steam anyway. Most have no idea what they are looking at. Some are with it enough to ask why it isn't painted Prairie Gold, not knowing the difference between Moline Plow and MM:shrug You must log in or register to reply here. Similar threads J.
